PCD 03 pH device measures streaming current in an examined solution of substances due to the fact that almost all dissolved substances and solid particles carry electric charges. If PCD measures the streaming current of zero this denotes that existing charges in a solution are neutralized. Otherwise, the streaming current can be positive or negative, so cationic or anionic. The value of streaming current depends on many factors like: molecular weight, particle size, temperature, viscosity etc, therefore the device can be used in characterization of chemical reactions or substrates/products.

Whereas PCD 03 measures streaming current of solutions, Anton Paar device is meant for measurements of textile samples.
